Overview
Small business and commercial lending is a growth market for most community banks. Lenders must blend analytical skills with a personal touch to ensure quality loan growth. The Commercial Lending Institute is a three-day program designed to provide your lenders and support staff with a thorough overview of commercial credit. Attendees use case studies to reinforce lectures with practical application. Each attendee receives a workbook and sample forms for the reference.

Program Highlights
Tax Return Analysis: How to analyze returns for small business owners and the difference between listed taxable income and the actual cash income.

Income Statement Cash Flow: How to analyze a cash flow statement and avoid being misled by it.

Common Financial Ratios: How to calculate them and what they mean to your loan decision.

Loan Purpose Evaluation: Why evaluating the loan purpose is essential, how to distinguish the loan purpose, and common pitfalls to avoid.

Income-Producing Real Estate Loans: How to analyze real estate loans to see if they will produce the actual income needed to repay the loan.

Contractors and Developers—How to lend effectively to a contractor or developer.

Banking Issues Today—An overview of current issues.

Who Should Attend?
This program is designed for new or experienced commercial lenders, loan review personnel and support staff.

Materials and Curriculum
Student notebooks containing curriculum materials are provided at registration. Attendees register on Tuesday, October 28 from 8:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. Classes will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. each day.

Instructors
Joseph Bonner and Hunter Sexton of Credit Risk Management, L.L.C. will be the instructors. Joseph Bonner is the Senior Consultant since 2001and Hunter Sexton has been an Associate since 2007.

Registration
The registration fee for this three-day program is $575 before September 1 and $625 after September 1 for The Alabama Bankers Association members and $875 before September 1 and $925 after Septemberr 1 for nonmembers. Registration fees include instruction, materials, refreshments and lunch.

Cancellation
Full registration fees will be refunded if a cancellation is received on or before ten days prior to the program. If date of cancellation is less than ten business days prior to the program, a $100 processing fee will be retained. No refunds will be given the day of the program. Substitutions are welcome. All cancellations and substitutions must be received in writing.
