Position Summary:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: develops and maintains a commercial loan portfolio for the Alabama division by retaining and expanding existing customer relationships and acquiring new customers, analyzes, reviews and underwrites loan requests, reviews documentation to properly close commercial related loans, prepares loan documentation, composes letters, prepares call and other reports, performs operational research, and follow-ups on commercial depository accounts, manages all aspects of reports, performs operational research, and follow-ups on commercial depository accounts, manages all aspects of relationships to ensue maximum credit quality, sells and refer other bank products and services, keeps abreast of changing business and economic developments which impact the loan portfolio and its profitability, meets or exceeds production and credit quality goals, ensures loans are renewed timely and delinquent loans are brought current, achieves all established goals, objectives, and expectations, handles problem loans efficiently, ensures compliance with all bank policies, procedures, regulations, and laws, maintains a high level of visibility in the banking community by representing the bank at professional organization, associations, and events.
Qualifications:
The idea candidate should possess a minimum five years experience of originating and underwriting commercial loans in the local Birmingham and surrounding areas. Strong business relationship development, sales and underwriting skills are required. Good understanding of commercial lending’s policies, procedures, regulations and laws. The selected candidate will have excellent analytical, problem resolution and negotiation skills, the ability to understand different types of financial statements and credit reports, the ability to analyze loan requests to determine credibility and profitability. The ideal candidate will possess hands on knowledge of credit analysis and commercial underwriting. Candidate must be ambitious and self motivated with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, results focused, and detailed-oriented with excellent time management skills. Ability to use sound judgment with strong decision making abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, flexible, resourceful, energetic, and ability to analyze work flow, multi-task, handle multiple projects, and set priorities to meet deadlines. Candidate must be knowledgeable and keeps abreast of industry trends. Good presentation, interpersonal relationship building, managerial, organizational, and leadership skills are essential. Ability to maintain composure and convey a positive and professional image at all times. Excellent quality customer service skills and demonstrates ability to maintain confidential matters and information. Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment, and must be adaptable to change. Ability to meet all established goals, objectives, and expectations and ability to comply with bank policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Additionally, candidate must have integrity and possess high character and honesty. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet.
